The Power Of Vision

Kirsty Mailer

Kirsty Mailer

Hey Guys, I received this email from Kirsty Mailer yesterday and thought it would be powerful to share. Enjoy!

I have just re-listened to Shane’s Visionary Call from Tuesday last week (3rd August) & WOW what a call it was… (listen again now before it gets deleted tomorrow morning)!

Many many things I’ve learned from that call & a million notes that I’ve written, but the biggest thing for me is about sharing my vision…

So, here goes…

I’ve managed to get very clear on my vision. This is important. My Vision is to assist as many people as possible reach the level of success they truly desire. At first I thought my vision was to have the best performing team in the company, but it’s not, because my vision is not about ownership, it’s about contribution & making a wide spread impact. This is something we all have not only the opportunity to do here, but the ability to, because we are all on the same team.

So, firstly I’ve set out to “make an example of myself” – in a good way! As most of you will now be aware, I’ve got my electric bicycle & I’m delivering 5000 flyers in letterboxes every week. There, I’ve said it. Now watch me do it! It’s not easy, but it sure is a lot of fun! The reason I’m sharing this with you is because I’ve recently come to the realisation of what is truly possible here, and what we really CAN do. It has been done before, and it can be done again. I remember in my early days here I learned about this principle:
Success requires Action
Action requires Motivation
Motivation requires Belief
Belief requires Proof – find the proof of what you believe in so that you know it can be achieved.

If you haven’t done or redone your 90 day plan recently, I encourage you to do it. And then stick to it. Call another Leader within the Company to walk you through it if you need to or share it with someone else if you want someone to hold you accountable.

Secondly I am Playing To Win! This is not a competition, it’s just my game. You make your game whatever you want it to be. Figure out what motivates you. What ingredients do you need to bake the perfect cake of your dream lifestyle…? Put it all together & just watch what happens when you put that cake in to bake… You can’t miss out 1 ingredient or put in the wrong measurements & expect the cake to turn out. I love Rachel’s Blog on the Corporate Blog page about this topic – she talks about letting herself off the hook a little bit in her early days – not doing absolutely everything she could to have success so that she had an excuse as to why she didn’t succeed. I’ve fallen into that trap in the past too. If you’re looking for excuses why not to succeed you might as well quit & stop wasting your own time. Make a Decision as to whether you want success or not, then go out & get it!

Thirdly, I am being ME. Yep, I’m a Mum, I’m a Wife & I’m a Business Woman. We all play many roles throughout the day & I’m doing the best I possibly can at each one. One at a Time. The best way I’ve found that I can do this is by just being Me. Doing things the way that MY Future Self would do them. Because I am my Future Self from many years ago, I am being a lot like the person I thought I would be, I am doing some of those things that I intended to do & I do have a lot of the things I thought I would, but there’s still a lot more ahead of me, along the way I’m still me. Get to know yourself & then just be yourself.

So, back to my Vision… To assist as many people as possible reach the level of success they truly desire.

What Level of Success are you aiming for? What are you doing to achieve it? Are you putting yourself in the best possible position to play your game to WIN?! Are you doing everything possible to achieve that goal?

Some famous words from Shane:

“It’s up to you, you’re going to be the one that decides what is supposed to be, you’re going to be the one makes that come true…”

On that note, I’m off to deliver flyers… ;)

Law Of Attraction

Law Of Attraction

Law Of Attraction

Every thought vibrates, every thought radiates at a specific signal and every thought attracts a matching signal back. This is the Law Of Attraction.

A great demonstration of this would be – lets say you turn on the radio and you have the station set at 105.1, you would not expect to pick up the music being transmitted from the frequency of say 98.1. You understand that the radio vibrational frequency must match – and the law of attraction works the same way.
The vibrational thoughts that we have, always match what we are attracting.

If there is something that you want – that you desire – you need only put your attention to it and by the law of attraction it will come to you. Now here’s the key – if there’s something that you DO NOT want…lets say “I just don’t want to be in debt anymore” – and if you put your focus on this “getting out of debt as an example”- the universe will simply pick up the vibration of “debt” and deliver more debt to you.

This is why its so important to be conscious of what it is that you are thinking. Whatever we think about we bring about – whether we want it or not. There was a time in my life when I was in major financial difficulty and I learnt to replace my thoughts of worrying about the debt with thoughts of abundance and wealth. I simply made a conscious decision to change my thinking. Affirmations and visualisation are two great tools in which to assist in harnessing the powerful law of attraction.

What are some instances in your life when you have witnessed the power of the “law of attraction?”

Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can

I’m reading a book at the moment called “Catch Me If You Can”. It’s the true story of Frank Abagnale, one of the most daring con men, forges, imposters and escape artists in history. In his notorious criminal career he cashed US$2.5 Million in forged cheques, practised law without a license, practised as a doctor without a degree or license, donned a pilot’s uniform and co-piloted a Pan Am jet, posed as a college professor even though he was a high school drop out, and managed to outwit the police of 26 countries and every US state, all before he turned twenty-one. You may have seen the movie staring Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hanks?

There’s a part in the book where he’s describing one of the many times Abagnale walked into a bank to cash a forged cheque. He admits that the forged job wasn’t too great. Many flaws to the cheque which could have been easily picked up by the teller had they but simply took the time to observe. It was his confidence that carried him through. To quote a small section of the book: “the transaction also verified a suspicion I had long entertained; it’s not how good a cheque looks but how good the person behind the cheque looks that influences tellers and cashiers”.

This got me thinking about a person having success in a business such as Polaris Global. It’s not the quality of the opportunity that will create a persons results. It is in who the person is BEING when they present that opportunity to their customers and prospects that gets results. Our customers and prospects look at the quality of the opportunity through our eyes. If we have confidence, if we have belief, if we come to a place of “knowing” that the service we provide is one of tremendous value and opportunity then others will “feel” this and also come to this place of belief and knowing.

What We Think About We Bring About

Future Self

Future Self

Lets have some fun!  First of all close your eyes. Picture your high school English teacher running their long pointy fingernails down a black chalkboard. Take some time now, close your eyes and visualise. Makes you shiver doesn’t it? Even though this event didn’t actually take place right now in this moment, it still causes a physical reaction in the body. The reason for this is because the mind cannot tell the difference between events that are real and those that are vividly imagined. If we can create a vivid mental picture of how our reality will look, sound, smell and feel, our mind will support us in experiencing it as though it were actually real.

We can all create a vivid mental picture of the life we desire, we can then go about reinforcing this future life into our consciousness by daily repetition. A great way to do this is by writing a short story. Writing our future life as if we are already experiencing it and then reading it twice a day. The reason for reading it twice a day acts as deliberate reinforcement and the more familiar it becomes, the greater will be our belief in its ultimate realisation. Before too long, what was once an uncomfortable and difficult concept to grasp will soon become an expectation of what our future will resemble. And here’s the wonderful thing….when such a future appears to be inevitable, we will find ourselves acting in ways that are consistent with it actually happening.

Share with me part of the vision for your future self!

Play The Game To Win At Polaris

Play To Win

Play To Win

I was thinking today about playing the “game to win” as apposed to playing it safe and “playing not to lose”. There was a time when I first started my journey here with Polaris when I was in the category of playing not to lose. I’d been in the network marketing industry for a little over 4 years. My first business venture had failed and I was at a place whereby my belief in my ability was, well, lets just say somewhat racked to the core. I learnt very quickly upon joining with the company that there were certain things that the leaders did on a daily basis in which to get results. They are known as the Six Daily Activities for Success. Income producing activity, daily mediation and visualisation, masterminding with leaders, being a product of the product, daily gratitude & cultivating the expectation of leadership.

Now I knew what these Six Daily Activities were from day 1 of my business, yet I didn’t do them. Some I embraced and put into action, yet others I didn’t. Was it any wonder that I struggled in my early days of the business? I had a battle going on in my mind. I remember thinking that I would have an excuse if I failed. It wouldn’t be my fault – It was the fact that I didn’t mastermind with leaders or that I didn’t do my visualisation. The thought of failing and having done everything that was required was initially too much for me to confront. My thoughts were….”what if I do all of these things and still fail”? Then it would have to be me. Scary thought for me at the time. Thank goodness I got over myself. I gave myself permission to succeed. I got serious and implemented these success principles and disciplines in which to get results.

My question today is: Which of the success principles are you not applying? Is there an area that you are able to improve upon? Are you playing the game to win or are you playing it safe?

Why Are So Many Having Success At Polaris Global?

Shawn Achor

Shawn Achor

I was reflecting this morning about the tremendous success so many have experienced as a result of starting their business with Polaris Global. A huge contributing factor is that of being connected to the community of people within the company. To be surrounded by successful people has a direct impact on the results a person will experience.

I was privileged to be sitting in the audience at one of our events with Shawn Achor presenting on stage. Shawn is the winner of over a dozen distinguished teaching awards at Harvard University, where he delivered lectures on positive psychology in the most popular class at Harvard.

Shawn shared with the audience that day that 25% of a persons success is attributed directly to their circle of influence. 25%!! So one could have all the skill level, all of the intelligence, the determination in the world in which to create results, however if they are associating with a negative group of people, they will fall short by at least 25%.

After thinking about this it sounded very logical. I’d just never been given a percentage as to how much of an impact ones direct circle impacts on ones results. Something that I have learnt to do over the years as an entrepreneur is to surround myself with those who are on purpose and of like mind. Winners! This job has been made even easier since getting started as a distributor with Polaris. I am blessed that every day I’m able to tap into our training calls and connect with winners. Thank you for contributing to 25% of my success!

Share with me your experience in regards to the community at Polaris

Two Choices

Human Spirit

Human Spirit

The below message was sent to me via email today. It touched me so deeply I felt to post it here. Enjoy as much as I did.

What would you do?….you make the choice. Don’t look for a punch line, there isn’t one. Read it anyway. My question is: Would you have made the same choice?

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question:

‘When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection”.

Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do.

Where is the natural order of things in my son?’

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. ‘I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.’

Then he told the following story:
Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, ‘Do you think they’ll let me play?’ I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father Ialso understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, ‘We’re losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we’ll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.’

Shay struggled over to the team’s bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart. The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay’s team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.

In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay’s team scored again.

Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn’t even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay’s life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact.

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed.

The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay..

As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game. Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman’s head, out of reach of all team mates.

Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, ‘Shay, run to first! Run to first!’
Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, ‘Run to second, run to second!’

Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base.

B y the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball . the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.

He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher’s intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman’s head.

Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.
All were screaming, ‘Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay’
Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, ‘Run to third! Shay, run to third!’

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, ‘Shay, run home! Run home!’

Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team

‘That day’, said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, ‘the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world’.

Shay didn’t make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

To Experience The World Through New Lenses

Touchdown

Touchdown

Shane and I are so excited to be heading back to Australia! We both woke up this morning with that extra spring in the step. I always get little butterflies in my bellie before a trip.

It got me thinking about a conversation I had years ago with a girlfriend. Have you ever written out a list of your ideal partner? Anyways at the top of her list was that the guy must be “well traveled”. I asked her why this was so important to her and as it turns out, Cassey, was well traveled herself and found that there was a huge difference in the mindset from someone who had seen the world, compared to someone who hadn’t.

This makes sense as when you travel it expands your experience. To experience different cultures and places first hand certainly has an impact on how you view yourself and the world. I often reflect with tremendous gratitude that “I get paid to travel the world”. There is a reason that Polaris holds its conferences in different locations around the globe. It opens the mind of the attendees, and with this open mind, we are able to see life through a different point of view. Things that you take for granted, you appreciate more. Things that you just thought were a certain way, are revealed not to be so.

As I’ve run my business over the years, there have been many times when someone within my team shares with me that their decision to attend a Polaris conference will have them going overseas for the first time. It is then so wonderful to see them in this new land with eyes wide open and glistening! Without question, every time, the experience of travel causes a shift within the person. This physical shift stays with you.

Share with me where you have been and the changes that occurred within you as a result of the experience.
